Why the Buzzman? It's the BrEEze!
Our Original Propeller Wind Sensor
1996
We flew to Somfy/Simu (Arc Le Gray, France) in 1997 to show them
how we adapted their Hurricane Shutter Propeller sensor to Our Awnings by
changing their circuit board.
The Buzzman Sensor was born.
It Buzzed when you blew on it to demonstrate how it worked.

The Buzzman Supreme model is made up of all heavy American made stock components, thick, white epoxy/PVC coated/full bath dipped over heavy aluminum alloy frames. Alloy is stronger than plain aluminum and has an elastic quality under stress to return to shape. Other companies may import German, Italian, French, or Chinese awnings & components that are lightweight, thin models for light wind and no rain only. Buzzman will never use these inferior systems.
Our competitors’ frames are thinner, white powder baked enamel
paint, or anodized coated on lighter and thinner plain, soft aluminum
frames (The best competitor level is only at 6063 T-6 plain aluminum
extrusion). They mix their
frames with steel tubes, which will cause galvanic electrolysis, or metal erosion and corrosion. Our
coatings and All Aluminum Alloy Frames are vital in providing resiliency to
salt on ocean fronts and protection in humid climates. The thicker
the coating, the better (our coatings are three-times thicker than
the industry standard, due to our special triple wet coat cure).
Our main support frame square bar, front bar, and
fabric roll tube are;
ALL Aluminum High Tensile Alloy, Heat Cured & Annealed
High Torsion & Maximum Strength.
Only All Aluminum Awning Frames will not have the metal erosion and corrosion of dissimilar metals
(Galvanic Electrolysis Corrosion), giving us Strength & Longevity with
No-Maintenance required due to not having joints and components
corroding. This also gives us continued heavy rain and wind strength
even years after the frame has been in use.
The competitions' frames are often standard soft aluminum
front bars ONLY, with non-aluminum Steel square bar tube and Steel round fabric roll tube. Even with their galvanized protection inside, the steel
tubes can
corrode due to the galvanic Electrical Charge that never shuts
off, once place outside on a wall in High Humidity and windy areas.
All of the steel main frame and its components attached to it, such
as the arms, shoulders, elbows and wrist connection points, stay
charged up and sizzling, and can freeze up, require constant
lubricant, or will just become weakened and corroded over a a few
years. That is all it takes.

A
Whimpy Finger push on this competitor's best model, pressed these arms IN & OUT
(their heaviest multi-cable system arms).
Their Arms cannot press hard against their Hollow, Round, Empty
Front Bar, or it will bow outward. So, they are limited on how
strong they can make their arms.
Big, Round, Heavy Looking Frames, does not always mean they have Structure & Strength on the Inside like our Buzzman.
Heavy rain can also bow and warp this competitor's
frame. Compare to our Buzzman Frame above. We have thickness,
strength, and
structure, compared to their hollow, empty frame tube, and you can see why we have the level of performance and
longevity in our Buzzman.
Most other competitors, such as this Claimed multi-cable supposed strongest awning, also have Hollow tubes, with Round, Empty centers. These are also Steel square bar main framed with steel round fabric tubes. They have much less Strength and are Incapable of Heavy Rain Use due to the Empty Front bar Tubes bowing in the center and under pressure (as shown above). They cannot use our Extreme arm strength, which is rated 25%-40% more pressing pressure, against the frame and Front Tube, than their arms. Competitive dealers may claim that their units will hold up, but the manufactures of these units will never make those claims and will certainly not warranty them as such. Competitive dealers come and go with no warranty left for the consumer.
Frames
Our BUZZMAN FRAMES are 70% Manufactured and Extruded by us! . We are made from "AMERICAN MADE" Extruded Profiles from an American Extrusion Plant from 100% Recycled Aluminum, using our exclusive dies and press plates.
Arms
Our awning arms have Triple-Angled- Elbows with Triple-Springs sealed inside for water tightness providing Triple Strength and added stiffness for maximum use on windy beach fronts etc. Competitors’ versions have single or double cable arms or fabric straps, with standard strength springs, providing reduced tension of the main deck fabric. Our fabric stays taut across the entire awning while our competition's will droop. No flapping awning with the Buzzman! Triple Angled Elbow Joints: It's Exclusive!
Triple Angled joints allow our Buzzman to remain higher, above your head, at less of a tilted pitch angle, until the awning is rolled out all the way. The Buzzman will even drop an extra 12" lower, when it reaches the end so that you get extra blocked shade and protection from the rain.
Brackets
Our brackets are heavy, thick aluminum alloy with thick epoxy/PVC coating to ensure complete protection from the elements. The competitors' brackets are lighter and thinner, and just plain aluminum, powder baked enamel.
Fabrics
We use 100% acrylic Sunbrella and Dickson fabrics. They can be rolled up even when wet without forming mildew and provide the highest longevity for awning material used in roll out awnings. There are
155 Sunbrella Colors to choose from with companion trim valance included. We have our own special cleaner; Buzzman Awning Juice Cleaner. Spray on straight....don't scrub or hose......and it will go to working eating dirt for three weeks. it keeps awnings like new for up to
twenty years if used a minimum of twice-per-year, or as needed.
*We figured out how to get rid
of the Wrinkles on the Scallop Valances!
Motors
Electric motors are completely sealed and then inserted inside the fabric roller tube of the awning, never being exposed to the elements. The torque required to roll the awning in and out is always constant, allowing the motor to run almost indefinitely without breaking down. 15 years of uninterrupted service is common and 20 years is almost expected. Unlike automated hurricane shutters, the Buzzman Retractable Rollout Awnings always have a lighter, constant torque requirement and can perform well day in and day out on an extremely low level requirement from their available capability.
